I don't support communism

So I brought my bad mood here instead of twitter to spare everyone for once...

I am absolutely tired of being asked if I am married, if I am getting married, and why I am not getting married.
Please.Just.Stop.

I think marriage is a flawed theory. It goes against human nature and fails more than is succeeds.
Why would I want to enter a situation that is almost guaranteed to fail?

Don't give me a bunch of crap about soul mates, love, and happily ever after.
In today's society, soul mates and actual love happen about as often as naturally conceived quadruplets (or how Ted Nuggent probably enjoys his steak.)
Rare. Very rare.

Everyone wants something for nothing, and they want it like 5 minutes ago.
They do not want to invest time, energy, blood, sweat & tears into anything. And why think anything through?
I mean if you consider all the benefits, it seems like the best idea ever! (Right?)
Two incomes = better than one.
One house note (rent) is better than two.
Consolidate bills and get discounts for being married sounds great, too.
Plus you have a date to weddings, doubt you'll be spending a lot of nights home alone, and always have someone to cuddle up to when it's cold.
Makes sense right?

How could anyone NOT want to tie the knot if those are all the pros you get from it?

BECAUSE YOU AND ABOUT 85% OF THIS WORLD IS SELFISH!

Because you don't always get your way.
Sometimes people change and aren't who you fell in love with.
Don't pay attention to statistics, more people cheat than those who don't.
Now you have to take another person feelings, desires, goals, and needs into account when making even small decisions.

Considering how selfish our society has become (I never said I wasn't selfish so don't point fingers) it isn't hard to see why most people divorce.

Furthermore, as far as I'm concerned, marriage is like communism.

So for the love of all things Holy,

PLEASE STOP ASKING ME ABOUT MARRIAGE.
