So today is a gloomy day.
We are going through big lay offs in the Oilfield division, the division I work for.
And my fellow buyer was laid off.
He was my ally, my friend, and the only person I trusted in purchasing.
And now he is gone.
I have become the golden child, but with that comes great responsibilty and insane fears of falling from grace.
I am shaking, trying not to cry, and trying to hold back a panic attack.
Crazy rumors have been going on all week, and I have been so scared.
Yesterday my boss called me and asked me (ever so frantically) if I had applied for the buyer position open for foundry maintenance. Which I replied with no, it's a lateral move & HR said that's not allowed. He seemed pretty happy about that.
But it made me really suspicious...
As long as I'm here Monday....
