Well boys and girls, I feel that I have been really successful maintaining my diet and exercise routine. Yippie!
Last night I went to Banita Creek Hall to see Aaron Watson. The day before I had read a bulletin on myspace about emailing the tour manager if you were interested in working the show. Since I usually attend shows in Nac by myself I figured this would be a great opportunity to avoid drunk losers and to be just a little closer to the music. And I was not let down one bit.
Yesterday morning I received a text from Clint (tour manager & merch conosur) telling me to meet him at the merch table around 8:30. So after a crap day at work and a crap weigh in (thanks GNC for calling me a fatass) I got ready to go honky-tonkin' with Aaron and the gang.
I got there a little early, because I am always either too early or really late for everything. When I finally met Clint, I was given the task of helping him sling shirts, caps, and cds that evening.
I greatly enjoyed the experience. We watched as the hall filled with people to watch Aaron put on a solid show.
After the show we assisted with the autograph line and I became the keeper of the credit card machine. After getting rid of a few groupies, dealing with the drunks and hookers, and taking care of minor details it was time to pack up. I got to speak with Aaron, which as I have said many times before, is a really nice guy who genuinely appreciates his fans. I earned myself the live cd & dvd that was just released and a new favorite koozie.
I hope to have the chance to work with Clint again at a future show. I really enjoyed being that close, and being able to talk with people on the inside. (Afterall, I'm just an average person. Not someone who usually sees that side of a show.)
I am going to see Aaron again on Saturday at the Fort Bend County Fair. And I think if you're nearby and have the chance, you should come see him too!
