For whatever reason, I seem to be doomed to have ignorant supervisors for the rest of my life.
My current boss does not hold a degree nor does she have one ounce of common sense. The woman is a walking disaster.
Yet, thanks to the big paycheck and the nice title, she thinks she's pretty important and can micromanage the purchasing department to the point of driving a normal person insane.
I usually just touch base with the big boss, and bounce ideas of him, and try to leave her out because at this point, her knowledge of foundry principles and economic theory are elementary at best.
She tries to instruct me how to handle issues with castings, but she is clueless as to what she is talking about.
I don't pretend to know everything & anything about foundry, but my office is at the company's foundry. I learn basic & advanced information daily. I understand limitations, term meanings, and the impact of certain processes. She does not.
There has been numerous occasions when she was telling me how to handle something when I countered her suggestion with information she did not comprehend, therefore making her look like an idiot. Plain & simple.
Then there is her ridiculous waste of time, weekly "meetings," that consist of her babbling nonsense for over an hour. Last week, we spent 30 minutes on how I pretty much suck at life, but she never came straight on and said it. So I took things up a notch and turned it around. I used my knowledge of economic theory and information I learned from a recent Houston Chronicle article over some of our biggest customers to make her feel the size of a paperclip and as smart as one as well. It was empowering and liberating.
She sat there with her mouth open and a blank look on her face. I was over her head and she didn't know what to say or how to respond.
Not long after, her little meeting ended.
So now we have these meetings "weekly." I am going to have to start having vendors visit on Wednesdays only.
On my performance reviews she rates my knowledge as "Average" when at this point it is clearly evident that my knowledge for my inventory exceeds hers. Many times over.
I would love to see her performance reviews...
I guess I am just frustrated...
I really need to work on graduate school, this place is going to make me lose my mind.
