Soap box time

**Warning - I am about to talk about a very *controversial* topic that you may or may not agree with me on. If you are easily offended by these kinds of topics please take this time to leave. **

Alright, so I am sure those who know me understand that I am interested & active in politics.
Don't vote, don't bitch is my motto.
I am not a republican, I am not a democrat. I tend to lean towards the libertarian persuasion, but I refuse to wear a label.
People should have the right to do what they want. Marry who you want (only 1 at a time though please,) carry a gun, live where you please, and whatever social rights you can think of.
I believe in small government with little interference with the capitalist economic system.
And I am Pro-Choice.

I support Planned Parenthood and woman's right to birth control and abortion.

((if you are now offended, you were warned.))

I believe abortion during the first trimester is the WOMAN'S CHOICE.
And politicians need to stop getting in between a woman and her rights to her body.
I am so sick of the Pro-Life and abstinence propaganda. You have the right to believe & choose what you wish, but don't shove those beliefs down mine & every other American's throats. Please stop telling me and all of the other Pro-Choice Americans that we are going to hell, that we are baby killers, that we are heartless, and whatever other insult you can hurl in an attempt to sway our opinion.
You religious zealots give Jesus a bad name.

You ask, where am going with this? Well let's get to that part.

Texas Legislature began this year's session today, and a bill up for consideration would affect a woman's right to choose.
HB 36 & SB 182
http://www.legis.state.tx.us/Search/DocViewer.aspx?K2DocKey=odbc%3a%2f%2fTLO%2fTLO.dbo.vwCurrBillDocs%2f81%2fR%2fH%2fB%2f00036%2f1%2fB%40TloCurrBillDocs&QueryText=ultrasound&HighlightType=1

Reading this preposterous bill made my blood boil.

It would require a woman considering abortion to undergo an ultrasound, be provided pictures from it and given an explanation of it at no cost. The woman must also hear the heartbeat of the fetus.
The woman must also be informed that having an abortion could increase her chances for breast cancer.

The last part is complete bs & has no real medical founding.

Oh and the Pro-Life zealots also want their own license plate.

So here's the deal people.
A woman who chooses to go through with an abortion is already under a lot of emotional and mental stress. A woman who has an abortion wears a scarlet letter in society if people are aware. I say if people are aware because most are ashamed of their choice and fear being judged because of her choice.
And now Texas wants to make this entire ordeal that much more difficult on women.
A woman who has an abortion never forgets it, and has to deal with whatever feelings she has about it for the rest of her life.
The politicians and the state of Texas do not.

So, I urge my fellow Texans to
go to http://www.legis.state.tx.us/
Find your TX state representative AND state senator.
Call them.
Write them.
Email them.
Let them know that they need to stop trying to take a woman's right away!!

Visit http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ and find out more about what you can do to protect women's right to birth control and abortion.

If we don't stand up to the people we elected, we run the risk of losing more of our rights!

yeah... i cannot stand people who are against a woman's right to control her own body. it makes my blood boil, too. what REALLY gets to me, is when men make the argument that women should not have the right to choose what happens to their own body. it's so infuriating. women's rights is a hot button issue for me. you push it just once in the wrong way and you're likely to get the ranting monologue of a lifetime.

keep fighting the good fight, America needs you to keep fighting it. one day we might actually achieve that equality and liberty that our nation was founded to protect.

I support the pro choice movements right to say what they want but I also support the Pro choice sides right to call women who have abortions baby killers and murderers. Basically I think anyone should say whatever comes to their mind at anytime. That's why I'm going to say my new favorite word, 'douchenugget".
